Act of Murder Book Review from @kleffnotes

When Doc Brady went into orthopedic surgery he had hoped to avoid coming in contact with death. The problem is that now it seems to be appearing throughout his life. in 1994 he witnesses a hit and run that kills a young child, but is this an accident or a diabolical murder. Act of Murder is the first in the Doc Brady mystery series by actual doctor John Bishop.

After witnessing the tragic death Doc Brady brings his son and wife into his own investigation. As they all track down clues they find themselves pulled deeper and deeper into a part of Houston that they never knew existed. With the investigation unfolding they reveal a macabre conspiracy that stretches from ivory towers to teaching hospitals, and even into the legal community. This story emphasizes the idea that money truly is the root of all evil.

This thriller fits within the realm of legal thrillers by John Grisham, though with a medical twist. As the story unfolds Bishop does not shy away from covering darker elements in this mystery. He also is able to bring his own knowledge to the table and craft a story that shows an impressive amount of medical terminology.
